
Phaedon Georgitsis (Greek: Φαίδων Γεωργίτσης; 21 January 1939 – 1 March 2019) was a Greek actor. He was a popular actor of Greek cinema. He starred in many films, 13 of which were produced by Finos Film. He was also one of the main protagonists of Greek theatre. He studied at the Drama Schools of Karolos Koun, Christos Vlachiotis and Pelos Katselis. He made his film debut in the film Never on Sunday by Jules Dassin in 1960. He became popular through the musical films of Finos Film directed by Yannis Dalianidis, with frequent co-stars Mary Chronopoulou, Zoe Laskaris, Kostas Voutsas, Martha Karagiannis, etc. In the theater he collaborated with Karolos Koun's "Karolos Koun" Art Theater as well as with the State Theater of Northern Greece and the troupe of Minoas Volanakis. He first appeared on television in 1972 in the series "Red Ring", while he became popular again in the 1990s through the daily television series "Good Morning Life" and "Shine" by Nikos Foskolos. He also directed theatrical and film works. He died at the age of 80, on March 1, 2019 from brain cancer.
