Alesson S. Moreira

Biography

Born and raised in Jardim Ângela, one of São Paulo’s peripheral neighborhoods, Alesson S. Moreira is a producer, screenwriter and film distributor. He holds a degree in Audio and Video Production from ETEC Jornalista Roberto Marinho and received screenwriting training at Instituto Criar. During his training, he produced Periódico, his ETEC graduation film, which was selected for more than 10 festivals across Brazil. At Instituto Criar, he directed the cast of Omin Mimo, selected for Kinoforum – São Paulo International Short Film Festival, and wrote the dance film Corpos que Contam. He is also one of the founding producers of Festival Mosaico, one of the main showcases for student cinema in the state of São Paulo. He is currently directing Meu Novo Bairro, his first original work as a director, and completing Inah, a short film supported by the VAI Program, an initiative of the São Paulo City Government, where he serves as Executive Producer. His goal in audiovisual storytelling is to show that Brazilian and peripheral cinema is also pop culture.
