Luis Fernando Verissimo

Biography

Luis Fernando Verissimo (Porto Alegre, September 26, 1936 – Porto Alegre, August 30, 2025) was a Brazilian writer, comedian, cartoonist, translator, television scriptwriter, theater author and novelist. He was an advertiser and newspaper reviewer. He was also a musician, having played the saxophone in some ensembles. With more than 80 published titles, he is one of the most popular contemporary Brazilian writers. He is the son of writer Erico Verissimo.
