
Kostas Karagiorgis (Athens or Andros, 12 March 1938 – 13 May 1989) was a Greek film, theatre and television actor. A graduate of Panteion, he was also a graduate of the Drama School of the National Conservatory, while he also studied piano. In 1960, he made his first appearance on the stage. He took part in many theatrical performances and films, as well as in well-known television series (En tuto nika, Kokoromyali, Dekato trite anakiritiko Office, To kanala ton paranomon). Previously, he had distinguished himself by playing the role of Greek army captain Hector Psachos in Nikos Foskolos' popular TV series Agnostos polēmos. He was married to Stella Livaniou, a dancer. He died suddenly and prematurely on 13 May 1989 in Toronto, Canada, where he was on a professional tour with Nikos Papanastasiou, from a heart attack. His son, Nikos Karagiorgis, is also an actor and has been the president of the Greek Actors' Union since 18 May 2024.
